This is not an instant messaging service and should not be used in an emergency.  If this is an emergency, contact 911 or the SAS 24-hour cell phone at 703-380-1434.

Who should use SASOnline?

Victims/Survivors, significant others, and concerned members of the George Mason University community can access this service.  If you are not affiliated with this university, please contact the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline at www.rainn.org or by calling 1-800-656-HOPE.

Why would I use SASOnline?

SASOnline will provide you information and personal support to help you make well-informed decisions about the following:

  • recovery from an incident of interpersonal violence
  • legal options, both on and off campus
  • medical options, both on and off campus
  • referrals to resources, both on and off campus
  • information and support for family, friends, and concerned members
  • information on how you can help and support a victim/survivor

You may want to visit our FAQ section on this website for some preliminary information before accessing this service.  Click here.

If you are seeking immediate crisis help about an incident that has recently occurred, please contact our 24-hour cell phone at 703-380-1434.

How can I contact an SASOnline Advocate?

To send a message to an SASOnline advocate, please click here to log into the MyMasonPortal.  You will be asked to use your Mason email and password to enter this Portal.  Once logged in, go to the Services tab and scroll down to SASOnline link. Use the form to send us a message, including an email address of your choice.  An advocate will send a response to the email address you have provided within 48 hours.

Although we have taken measures to make this process as safe and confidential as possible, if you believe you are using a computer that is shared or otherwise unsafe, find a safer computer before contacting SASOnline.

Who is an SASOnline Advocate?

An advocate is a Mason graduate student or staff member who is well-trained in issues relating to interpersonal violence, to include sexual assault, dating/partner violence, and stalking.

Does SASOnline provide ongoing help?

SASOnline has been created to offer support for issues of sexual assault, stalking, and dating/partner violence.  This may include more than one contact with an online advocate in order to answer your questions and clarify the responses.  If you are seeking counseling or continuing advocacy, you will be directed to resources on and off campus.

If you would like to use this service, visit MyMason Portal.
